Without psychology how can we understand how things work? It allows people to understand more about how the body and mind work together. With this knowledge it can guide us with decision making. It can help with time management, setting and achieving goals, and living effectively. Raymond Philippe of psychology today states, “It’s a science that not only allows people to be more successful, but it can also impact their health. It helps many tackle their mental illnesses so that they can continue living their lives.” With the help of psychological studies there have been many success outcomes such as drug development and the ability to diagnose various diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
Some major takeaways that I learned from psychology is everyone uses psychology on a daily basis, whether they are talking with friends, arguing with a partner, or disciplining their children. Most people just don’t realize the science behind their decisions. My chosen topic for Fire Project is linked to the psychological disorders of mood, anxiety, and depression in neighborhoods that don't do much to ban or redeveloped brown fields. Mood disorder is characterized by the elevation or lowering of a person’s mood that can lead to one being bipolar or depressed. To be depressed one is in a state of general unhappiness or hopelessness. Due to social conditions, every individual should be able to achieve their hopes and dreams and not being cut short because of health issues caused by these toxins being released by brownfield.
